ACURA designed a versatile prefabricated and seismically approved common support frame (CSF), which the contractor built off site. The support frame was then transported in large sections on-site, lifted by crane, and successfully installed across all corridors.
An estimated total of 12km of siFramo was used in this innovative solution, along with other seismic approved products like Zip-Clip and seismic approved fixings.
Flinders University at Tonsley is a $120 million state-of-the-art hub by Flinders Uni located inside the old Mitsubishi Factory precinct.
One of the key challenges during the construction of the project, was to ensure that it met the AS1170.4 seismic compliance requirements.
To address the compliance requirements, ACURA Group deployed its end-to-end seismic services, and worked with both suppliers and builders to design and implement multiple seismically compliant solutions.
This involved the use of seismically engineered siFramo modular framing for the plant-room, Zip-Clip wire bracing for chilled beams and ductwork, Mason seismic spring hangers for pipe work isolation, as well as pipe support blocks and clips.
