Set to house 1,200 dwellings for 2,400 residents, MHKP features 45,000 sqm of health, retail, mixed-use, and commercial space—including WA’s first medi-hotel. Surrounded by public infrastructure, learning centres, and modern transport routes, MHKP serves as a vibrant hub bustling with workers, residents, and visitors every day.
Knowing the degree of confidence people have in the precinct, ACURA Group ensured the fire safety of individuals and infrastructure by supplying industry-leading Snap fire collars, which are rigorously tested to meet the highest Australian standards outlined in the National Construction Code (NCC) 2022. We also delivered a range of consumables and insulation solutions, including Thermobreak, Polyblock ferrules, and ISO clips, to improve system efficiency and sound and thermal performance.
During MHKP’s construction, ACURA Group faced the challenge of mounting large exhaust fans—800mm and 900mm in diameter, weighing around 1,200kg each—to the slab above ground. After careful evaluation and collaboration with the Project Manager and Site Manager, ACURA Group developed a cost-effective solution: engaging a specialist local metal fabricator and painting services to ensure optimised costs and flexibility. The result? A successful solution which was fast and easy to mount on site, effectively contributing to meeting tight deadlines within a fast-paced build schedule.
Initially, all fans were specified as 800mm. However, upon delivery, some turned out to be 900mm. Instead of craning the welded frame and returning it to the fabricator for adjustments, a design change was easily accommodated with the delivery of a laser-cut adapter plate—avoiding delays, inconvenience, and extra costs.
Seismic ratings were also a mandatory requirement. As part of ACURA Group’s service, we provided a free, fully engineered design that met seismic standards. We also supplied hot-dip galvanised, laser-cut plates to mount the fans on vibration mounts, ensuring a robust installation capable of withstanding vibration. To enhance structural integrity, AcuraSTRUT was utilised to brace the frames, providing excellent rigidity and stability.
Since 2005, innovation and excellence have been in ACURA’s DNA. Our commitment to understanding client requirements, maintaining a fully stocked warehouse, and ensuring fast deliveries helped ensure that MHKP was completed on time and on budget.
